St George's Hill Golf Club was the venue for this week's Financial Times Business Championship, the penultimate event in the 2010 series.
The picturesque course was is fantastic condition and the greens were the fastest we have seen all year. However, the warm and sunny conditions helped with play and some excellent scores were recorded.
Not for the first time this year, the Referee's mathematics was tested when two teams finished on exactly the same score with both pairs scoring 41 and 45 points. Enterprise Rent A Car came out on top in the card playoff and qualifed to go through to the expenses paid Grand Finals in October at Quinta do Lago's Laranjal Course. Drew Smith finished in second place and Garbuio Dickinson finished third on 80 points. The top 3 teams were awarded crystalware from the luxury Inkerman collection.
Nearest the pin on the tricky 8th hole was Justin Barnes from the Financial Times team. Justin was awarded an Odyssey Strykeback putter.
The Longest Drive competition was won by John Spencer from MWB and John won a Callaway Diablo hybrid.
