Full Event Report

Celtic Manor Resort played host to the Financial Times Business Championship on Friday 18th June.  The day started with beautiful sunshine as the comeptitors teed off on this year's Ryder Cup course, the Twenty Ten Course. However as the afternoon progressed the players were subject to an almighty down pour resulting in some soggy players by the end of the day.

Nine teams took part in the competition, all hoping to secure their place in this year's Grand Finals, taking place at the Quinta do Lago Resort's Laranjal Course in October.

Batley Barless Fires claimed victory with an impressive score of 78 points with Inkerman taking second place with a total of 64 points. Williams Tarr followed in third who also had a total of 64 points with Inkerman climbing above them with one of their teams posting a higher score than Williams Tarr.  All three teams won luxury prizes from Inkerman's Crystal Collection, with Drew Smith Ltd securing their place in the Grand Finals taking place from 16th-19th October.

Chris Roberts won the Nearest the Pin prize on the 10th Hole, winning an Odyssey Backstryke Putter, and Ted Innis Ker won the Longest Drive competition on the 4th Hole and took home a Callaway Diablo Hybrid.

Thank you to all the teams who took part in the day, Batley Barless Fires, Inkerman, Williams Tarr, Royal Liver Assurance, Robert Gibbs, Marsh Ltd, Jaguar, South West Water, Amada and Brighton, Jeffrey James.
